BWR 0036
Artist: Casanatra
Title: Split The Atom Again

Street Date:
08.24.10
Format: Digital Download

Status: Coming Soon!

It’s time for a change.

Casanatra aims to raise the artistic standards for recording artists with the release of their fourth full length album, “Split The Atom Again”, by putting forth a body of work that inspires and challenges listeners rather than coddling them with sub-standard formulaic drivel.

By adding a fourth member to the Casanatra recipe, Brett Johnson former bassist for the hip-hop group Atmosphere, Casanatra has opened the door to a whole new set of flavors and textures beautifully captured on this record.

“Split The Atom Again” showcases inspired rock n’ roll infused with funk, hip-hop, and jazz elements coupled with lyrics from the soul outlining the working man’s struggle while calling out the sheep to wake up and look at the world with honest eyes.

The bar has been raised.

BWR 0032
Artist: Attracted To Gods
Title: Sinners & Saints

Street Date:
08.25.09
Format: CD

Status: Pending Release

Attracted to gods is anything they want it to be. From a guitar and drums duo to a three guitar full band onslaught!

The music is dark and shows the heavy side to people vs. their inner struggle to be god like themselves. The words are not feel-good-lovey-dovey-save-the-day lyrics, instead they are a working class point of view on vengeance, murder, lust, and the ability to be ego driven and lost while maintaining a moonshine buzz.

BWR 0031
Artist: Porcupine
Title: The Trouble With You

Street Date:
02.17.09
Format: CD

Status: In Stock!

With slabs of feedback and fuzz united with melody and lush harmonies, Porcupine dares the listener to define them.

Shoegazers? Maybe. Math Rock? A touch. Post-Punk? Probably. Midwest indie-rock power trio?

Definitely.

Porcupine's debut effort opens with the actual sound of a train screeching into a station in Austria and, like that train, Porcupine arrives with a record they can truly be proud of.

Recorded in historic downtown La Crosse Wisconsin at Continental Recording with the band turning the knobs and clicking the mouse.

The result is a cohesive 11 track sonic roller coaster that will hopefully leave the listener content yet somewhat dazed.

BWR 0030
Artist: Casanatra
Title: Death Ride

Street Date:
01.27.09
Format: CD

Status: In Stock!

If someone tells you they aren't fascinated with death, they are lying.  Negative connotations be damned, "Death Ride" is an ode to life.

From the first chord, this record pops with soul, style and vision.   Three
musician's working as one brain with six hands pounding out monolithic riffs, lush soundscapes, and dizzying flurries within the framework of a beautiful song.

BWR 0029
Artist: Seconds Before
Title: Change Is The Only Constant
Street Date:
09.09.08
Format: CD

Status: In Stock!

Change Is The Only Constant is Seconds Before's most accomplished and complete work to date. The album rocks with a confidence that comes with years of experience and features songs that you just might not be able to get out of your head (in the good way, not the annoying way).

Change Is The Only Constant might as well be the motto of the current decade, and there's no question the sound of this band has evolved over their nine-year existence. Sure, the trademark twin guitar interplay is still there, along with soaring vocal harmonies and one of the hardest hitting rhythm secions around, but on this record there's a definite sense of the unexpected. Inspired by the highs and lows of life in their hometown (including a sincere reflection on the heroes and victims of the 35W bridge collapse in "Calling Home"), the album represents the band's most mature and honest songwriting to date.

There's no pretense to any artificial rock star fantasy here. This is rock about real life performed by five working guys who haven't forgotten the simple joy og turnintg amps up loud and singing at the top of their lungs. So give the sophomore Seconds Before album a spin or nine, but don't get too comfortable, because change is... well, you know.

BWR 0028
Artist: All The Way Rider
Title: The Eagle's Revenge

Street Date:
05.06.08
Format: CD

Status: In Stock!

All The Way Rider's latest creation exudes a maturity in songwriting that has only been hinted at in previous efforts.

"The Eagle's Revenge" is the realization of an intentional and deliberate sonic vision. All The Way Rider's raucous, yet moody, rollercoaster of a recording pulls no punches when it comes to sinking its unexpected hooks into you. To the point that you find yourself humming along while you're sound asleep and dreaming. No lie. All The Way Rider strived to create a true representation of an organic rock band.

Lyrically, their brand of rock 'n roll takes the listener through a jaded working man's dissatisfied worldview, hinting at a tug of war between struggle and hope without losing the ability to place tongue firmly in cheek.

This record comes from the heart and soul of an unapologetically genuine band of friends, who aim to be true to themselves and inspire others at the same time. It is dynamically similar to the last time you heard an amazing record from beginning to end that inspired you to be wholeheartedly yourself. Remember that last time?

If you don't, "The Eagle's Revenge" will remind you.

BWR 0027
Artist: Sunday Flood / Scarlet Escape
Title: Sunday Flood. Scarlet Escape.

Street Date:
02.26.08
Format: CD

Status: In Stock!

After years of touring together, Sunday Flood and Scarlet Escape have teamed up to release the much anticipated split EP, “Sunday Flood. Scarlet Escape.” From front to back, this Blue Worm Records debut is an audacious, inspired showcase of two of the Midwest's premier independent bands.

Equal parts Hum, Quicksand, and SDRE, Sunday Flood’s music can best be described as an uninhibited avalanche of sound, as subtle and nuanced as it is overpowering. This brutally beautiful collection forays into progressive structure, dissonant tonality and breathtaking melody showcasing the band’s extensive maturity and range. From the frantically pulsating rhythms of “Outpatient Belongings” to the cathartic tension and release of “Ecotone,” Sunday Flood delivers an unforgettable performance.

Though Scarlet Escape differs stylistically from its counterpart, the band displays the same levels of passionate creativity and attention to detail throughout. A model of absolute intensity, Scarlet Escape is pure energy and emotion, the sound careening somewhere between Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters and Houston. With diverse offerings running the gamut from the introspective and uplifting “On Deck Circle” to the brooding and schizophrenic “Month of May,” Scarlet Escape charts a brilliant new course in the band’s evolution.

BWR 0026
Artist: Seconds Before
Title: Galvanic

Street Date:
05.29.2007
Format: CD/EP

Status: In Stock!

Galvanic is the third release from Seconds Before, and their first for Blue Worm Records. This 4-song ep showcases the natural evolution of the band’s sound, with urgently driving rock and expansive melodic passages at the core.

Supercharged rhythm section? Check. Densely layered guitars? Double check. Vocalist Brian Larson delivers yet another powerful performance, his trademark lyrical creativity and wit in fine form. It all comes together in a hot little slab that’s sure to please the ears of fans of Quicksand, Shiner, and Cave In, with a nod to classic 70’s hard rock thrown in for good measure.

Features former members of Threadbare, 108, Picturesque, Suspect Bill, and With.

BWR 0025
Artist: All The Way Rider
Title: Lahuna

Street Date:
01.23.2007
Format: CD

Status: In Stock!

In writing and recording their debut full-length "Lahuna," All The Way Rider wanted to create something genuine.  They had grown tired of slick and overly-polished pop "rock" records and set out to make something that could engage the listener while staying true to their roots and ideals.

The end result is 10 tracks of music that can only be described as "real."

These songs range from delicate and subdued to loud and rowdy, drawing on influences like Quicksand, Shiner and Failure while giving a nod to legendary pioneers such as Radiohead, Led Zeppelin and The Police.

"Lahuna" is laden with memorable melodies and thoughtful, often humorous lyrics influenced by everyday life.  There is no pouting about unrequited love here; rather there is discussion of the transition from the teenage years into adulthood, disenchantment with the superficial pressures of society and a challenge to what it means to "live right."

BWR 0024
Artist: Kingfield
Title: Letters Post Mortem

Street Date:
12.05.2006
Format: CD

Status: In Stock!

Kingfield, "Letters Post Mortem" is the first solo album from Brett Johnson, live bass player for the hip-hop group "Atmosphere".

Brett (Vocals/Guitar) wrote this 10-song rock records after he battled with cancer, non-hodgkins lymphoma, and won. He has been in remission since June 2002.

As a result of Brett's musical influences, and diversity in his writing style, no two songs on this record sound alike.

Lyrically "Letters Post Mortem" ranges through the subjects of facing death, gratitude, broken hearts, the blind leading the blind, and codependence.

This album happened because of the strength and perserverance of the human spirit, as well as the sheer will to survive.

BWR 0023
Artist: Casanatra
Title: Primo Impacto

Street Date:
05.23.2006
Format: CD

Status: In Stock!

Blue Worm Records is thrilled to announce the sophomore full-length release from Casanatra.

"Primo Impacto" runs the spectrum from short blasts of fuzz-rock catchiness to epic sludge rock moments.

This release is a huge departure from their previous record "Wood and Glass". One less member though putting out twice the sound, makes it hard to believe that these engaging arrangements are the same band

The new 3 piece lineup allows these guys to really let loose do what comes naturally--kicking ass.

Lyrical relevance through subjects like divorce, war, racial identity
and the search for self-awareness delivered with a tinge of dark
comedy and musical fearlessness makes this one new release that is a
requisite to chew on in 2006.
